World War I Centenary Commemoration

With the help of parents and the wider school community the foyer at Papdale School was transformed into a  Museum for the World War One Centenary Commemoration celebrations

Artefacts and news clippings from families who had relatives serving in the war were displayed along with a beautiful replica of the St Magnus 'Weeping Window' commemorative poppy installation created in the Papdale nursery with the assistance of the children.

'Many Hands' reminds us of those seamen who lost their lives at the Battle of Jutland

Mr Hodgon, our Art Teacher, with the help of all the P1-P7 children, also created a thought provoking art installation entitled 'Many Hands' depicting a sinking ship and hands cut out with the names of all the seamen lost at the battle of Jutland in 1916.

No Cars Day

Wednesday 25 May was chosen by the Eco Club as No Cars Day this year to promote healthier choices for the journey to and from school. Once again a huge thank you must go out to our staff, parents and visitors who supported the Eco Club with this initiative.

Funday raises £7000!!

A big thank you to everyone who helped on a stall and came along on the day to support us. Special thanks must go to everyone who helped sell raffle tickets which raised £2800 towards our fantastic total of £7,000 and also to the incredible face painters who barely had time to breathe for the whole four hours duration of the Funday!
