The Eco Action Earth Hour encouraged everyone in the school to put off their lights and any other electrical equipment, wherever possible, for an hour every afternoon for the week. The Eco Club took meter readings at 2pm and again at 3pm for that week and the following week to give a fair comparison.The graph shows the amazing difference this small step made with huge savings of 36%.
Buoyed by this success the Eco Club are now encouraging everyone to do this more often and have suggested we repeat this every Wednesday and Thursday afternoon to help reduce the schools energy costs further.
