Staff v Pupils

This years netball match proved a game of contrasting styles. The pupils passing and movement was excellent and they had lots of possession without being able to get the goals their play deserved. On this occasion the more direct approach and good shooting from the staff team won the day.

Ex pupil Scott Taylor took charge of the football match with the Pupils team sporting the new 'Argentine' style strip sponsored by Highland Industrial Supplies. Unfortunately, after a spitited display by the boys the staff team proved too strong on the day and managed to retain the title for 2016.

Inter House Competitions

This years P6 and P7 Inter House netball and football competitions were once again keenly contested with all the classes playing each other once in a round-robin format.
7E's girls proved too strong for the opposition winning all their games and taking the P7 title. 6M won the battle for the P6 title.
In the football 6E did very well to draw with both P7 teams as well as 6M which was enough to win the P6 title. The two P7 sides were very evenly balanced both winning two games and drawing one with 7E's superior goal difference just enough to pip 7M to the title.

New Football kits get their first run out

The Gilmour Shield Primary Football Competition was the perfect opportunity to show off Papdales new football kits. The kits which all have different variations on the school colours, blue and yellow, have kindly been sponsored by four local businesses, Highland Industrial Supplies, Lows Orkney, Nobilia Kitchens (Kelly Scott) and Papdale Stores with a fifth strip purchased by the Parent Council.
On this occasion Papdale didn't manage to get a team through to the final but they were the best dressed teams in the competition and everyone had a very enjoyable time.

Photos of three of the four teams who played in the Gilmour Shield are shown below. The kit sponsored by Highland Industrial Supplies will be used by the children when the Pupils play staff on the last week of term- blog to follow!

FACTfinders goes to the seaside

The last FACTfinders (fathers and children together) meeting of this school year was held at Scapa Beach on Sunday 5th June with mums invited along too to join in the fun.
A sandcastle competition and scavenger hunt were  organised to keep everyone busy in the beautiful sunshine with the option of a dip in the sea if the heat got too much for anyone!
